The exhibit will examine (1) the early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with a particular focus on Church beginnings in upstate New York, and (2) the migration west, which is being celebrated in 1997 with the sesquicentennial of Brigham Young's arrival in the Great Salt Lake Valley.  The society will draw from its own extensive collections plus material loaned by the Museum of Church History and Art of the Church. A third component will be a genealogical research station giving patrons an opportunity to explore a family history database compiled from family group sheets filed with the Utah Genealogical Society/Church Family History Library in Salt Lake City.
